SPA DIRECTOR PROGRAM COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

 

SD 101 Spa Industry (4.5 hours)

This section will introduce the essential knowledge, skills, and behaviors associated with the spa industry. 

 

SD 102 Spa Operations (4.5 hours)

Spa Operations address the daily activities that are developed and carried out by the Spa Director and staff; in order to generate the correct and most efficient methods of running an effective business.   

 

SD 103 Communication Techniques (9 hours)

The learners explore communication skills with strategy, and logistics. These communication techniques effectively deal within the spa community and daily life.  The course work include case scenario in order to demonstrate the most effective method of communication.

 

SD 104 Industry Finance (9 hours)

Assist the Spa Director with the application of the financial issues. Learners will look at examples of income statements, sales receipts, and balance sheets.

 

SD 105 Salesmanship (9 hours)

Learners develop their personal skills in salesmanship by exploring the many different approaches that are entailed within the marketing field from door to door, telemarketing, and business to business

 

SD 106 Services and Treatments (4 hours)

Learners evaluate each service the estheticians and massage therapists provide. Analyze and discuss the techniques used and how to improve the methods.

 

SD 107 Human Resources

Examine the process surrounding hiring employees. Understand the procedures and processes of personnel and their conflict.

SD 108 Medical Spa: Legal and Liability Issues (4.5 hours)

During this segment the legal and liability issues surrounding the medical spa will be examined.  The focus is on medical spas due to the clinical aspect of their services; because of this there are more regulations involving legal and liability concerns.

 

SD 109 Interviewing Skills (9 hours)

While examining interviewing skills the learners form a marketing plan which they then evaluate and then customize to their own practice or plan for a practice. 

 

SD 110 Trends in Spa Industry (4.5 hours)

Evaluate of the overview of trends in the spa industry. Look at developments and trends in order to be educated in the area of previous movements and current finding within the spa industry.

 

SD 111 Stress Management (4.5 hours)

Stress management is an intense section of our program in which the facilitator will induce stressful situations in which the trainees will learn to respond in an efficient and composed manner. 

 

SD 112 Time Management (4.5 hours)

Time management is a concentrated section in which the learners are subject to time limitations and deadlines.  The students will learn to successfully deal with these effects to maximize their productivity and eliminate unnecessary steps.

 

SD 113 Fieldtrips (18 hours)

Those attending the course will participate in field trips in which they may analyze and evaluate procedure and services provided by professionals like chiropractors, medical doctors, physical therapists, private practitioners, and day spas.
