Spa Director Program (85 hours)

 

OBJECTIVE:  CB Healing Institute provides an eighty-five (85) hour Spa Director Program designed to meet the various needs of the industry. 

 

The Spa Director program offers eighty-five (85) hours of classroom training consisting of many different elements.  The classroom training consists of various courses that expose the learner to the industry and the most effective way to fulfill the need for the employer.  CB Healing Institute addresses the following areas: an introduction to the spa industry and an overview of its operations. 

 

The courses cover topics in communication, salesmanship, and finance.  An overview of the services and treatments will be offered by the professionals in the field of medical spas.  Among other classes the learners will participate in concentrated exercises in aiding stress management and maximizing time management.   A certificate will be awarded upon graduation after the two (2) week training. 

 

The Spa Director Program is designed for students who already have a background in massage therapy, esthetics, or related fields to expand their expertise and education in day spa industry and management. To successfully complete the program, students will spend a total of sixty-seven (67) hours in course instruction and an additional eighteen (18) hours of field trips over a two (2) week period of time. A total of eighty-five (85) hours training must be completed in order for students to graduate from the course.  A learner is expected to maintain a ninety percent (90%) attendance rate as a minimum requirement for successful performance.

 

The course instruction covers the following areas: Spa Industry, Spa Operations, Communication Techniques, Industry Finance, Salesmanship, Services and Treatments, Human Resources, Medical Spa: Legal and Liability Issues, Interviewing Skills, Trends in Spa Industry, and Stress Management. Field trips will consist of on-site visits to locations of interest, such as local day spas, chiropractic clinics, massage therapy clinics, etc.

 

A tentative schedule is provided in the table that follows; however, the distribution of hours over the two (2) week time frame is subject to change due to scheduling availability of field trips.  Upon completing this course, students will be able to apply the knowledge they have received to their existing profession, allowing them to increase their business skill and opportunity.
