Massage Therapy Program

1200 Hours

OBJECTIVE: CB Healing Institute provides a twelve hundred (1200) Hour Massage Therapy Program designed to meet the various needs of our students.

This program has a portion of the training deliver through distance education. This enables the students to study at their own pace. Students will obtain distance education course material once they have signed an enrollment contract with CB Healing Institute. Training materials can be picked up in person or sent to the student. Once a student finishes a section they can return that section to the Administrator for grading. Students have four (4) months from the time they sign their enrollment contract to finish their distance education studies. A student is able to begin their on-site classroom training at any point during their distance education. However, they will need to complete all required distance education coursework by graduation of the on-site classroom training.

This program requires six hundred (600) hours of distance education courses and six hundred (600) hours of on-site training. The distance education needs to be completed in four (4) months and the on-site training will be done in eleven (11) weeks. Classes will be in session Monday through Saturday during the eleven (11) week period. Hours per week will vary as follows, and may be subject to change: students will be in class for sixty three (63) hours per week for weeks 1 - 7, for fifty nine (59) hours for week 8, for forty (40) hours per week for weeks 9 and 10, and for twenty (20) hours in week 11. Regardless of any variations in scheduling, on-site training will equal six hundred (600) total hours.

The entire six hundred (600) hours of on-site training must be completed, and grades of C or better on all sections of distance education must be earned in order for students to successfully complete this course. The program is designed for comprehensive training in Massage Therapy. Students will receive books, massage DVDs, uniform, and supplies as part of the program.

Distance education courses consist of training covering many areas of business management, literature reviews, interviews of massage practitioners in various massage fields, book reports, and journaling.

On-site training consists of various massage techniques and courses. During the students’ on-site experience, CB Healing Institute will address the following: basic anatomy and physiology of the human body, kinesiology, pathology, business, and ethics. The massage techniques are: Full Body Massage, Hot Stone Therapy, Back Treatment, Spa Techniques, Seated Massage, Facial Massage, Sport Massage, Pregnant Massage, Sport Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Alexander Technique, and Myofascial Release.  Students will also be taught to adhere to the highest standards of sanitation and cleanliness in maintaining equipment and the environment of massage/beauty therapy establishment. The instructor will be available to teach from 0700-1800 (7 am – 6 pm) Monday through Saturday. Sundays are make-up days from 1300-1800 (1 pm - 6 pm).  A diploma will be awarded upon graduation from the program.

Students must have a high school diploma or equivalent to obtain entry into this program. Successful students of massage therapy will be capable of balancing their academic and practical knowledge, clinical ability, dexterity, sensitivity, and attentiveness. Upon completing this program, students will have obtained advanced massage skills for employment in a massage therapy clinic, or to work privately as licensed massage therapists.

Our 1200 Hour Massage Therapy Program provided top notch training for students who are interested in becoming an authority in the massage therapy field. Significantly more distance education work and on-site instruction is necessary to complete this program. The techniques used are similar to the 750 hour program but more emphasis on training. For example, daily refinement allows the therapist to become a competent professional.
